Not really worth a full analysis, just something amusing re: that John Magee character who endorsed one Senator McCain a while back: In his letter to the Catholic League today, Hagee said he now understands that other terms he used to describe the church - “the great whore” and the “apostate church” - are “rhetorical devices long employed in anti-Catholic literature.” He said he had gained a better understanding in recent weeks of the Catholic Church’s relationship to the Jewish faith.

SEATTLE — Live from New York, it’s John McCain. The Republican presidential contender will make a cameo appearance this week on NBC-TV’s “Saturday Night Live,” a comedy venue that most recently has been focused on the ongoing Democratic presidential contest. Aides traveling with McCain on in the Pacific Northwest said the Arizona senator will appear on the program, to be hosted by comedian Steve Carrell, although they were mum about the details of his sketch.

Where It All Went Wrong? A perennial feature every campaign season is the release of genealogies supposedly demonstrating which kings, past presidents and vaguely familiar names presidential candidates are related to. A lot of the work is done by genealogy hobbyists, sometimes assisted by the candidate’s own wild-ass claims. John McCain was recently called out for a bogus claim of descent from Robert The Bruce. Hunt To Kill And now Richard Nixon is nominated for historical orphanhood.

Robert Malley, one of Obama’s Middle East Policy ADVISORs, admitted that he has been in constant contact with Hamas.  He has now been tossed under the bus…it’s getting pretty crowded underneath there, eh? Robert Malley told The Times that he had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think-tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obama’s Middle East advisory council.

Did we always go to handwriting analysts to determine the characters of our presidential candidates? Looking at the handwriting samples of McCain, Clinton and Obama, I got the weird sense that none of them would be president, come November. But then…maybe that’s just wishful thinking. ShareThis
